Club Officer Elections

The time is drawing near for you to step away from your position as your Key Club’s officer and move on with your journey in Key Club. To the graduating senior officers, congratulations! I hope that Key Club has served you well in your four years of high school. To all the underclassmen officers, it’s once again time for officer elections!

Key Club International suggests that officer elections take place in February. I would suggest that you start telling your members about elections now. Tell prospective officers to start coming to officer meetings and make sure to go over officer job descriptions before anyone is elected onto your club board. A lot of times, members will get voted in and not know what they’re supposed to be doing. If a club officer doesn’t know what they’re doing, how can they and your club be successful?  A great resource that is always available is the Key Club International Website (keyclub.org). This link: http://keyclub.org/Leadership/ls/cl.aspx has short job descriptions for each officer position and links to an even more in-depth description of the job. Also, new committee chairs should also be elected at this time.

Good luck to everyone in their club elections!
