K-Family Recap
Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 3:53PM Dates Held: November 18th-20th, 2011
Location: Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch,
Stewartville, MN
On Friday, November 18th, Key Clubbers from all around gathered to come together at the K-Family Retreat. Our International Trustee from Maine, Lucy McDermott, flew out and spent the weekend with her fellow Key Clubbers, along with our Minn-Dak governor, Caitlin Stroup.
Friday night, known as “Key Club Night”, was filled with lefse making for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, icebreakers, games, food, and of course, the infamous scavenger hunt. This year, instead of a scavenger hunt, I chose to do an “Amazing Race of Service.” Key Clubbers raced around to different stations and served while having fun with their team. Stations were set up around the race and Key Clubbers participated in service projects that benefited Ironwood Springs.
After an early start for some on Saturday morning, the day was filled with the ELIMINATE Walk/Run, programs, service projects, sleigh rides, the talent show, and once again, lots of food. Saturday was also the day when the Builder’s Club, K-Kids, Aktion Club, and Kiwanis joined the Key Clubbers out at the Ranch and participated in the activities.
Sunday was the day of departure for everyone. I hope that all had a safe trip home and that everyone is looking forward to the K-Family Retreat in 2012!
