ICON 2019 Recap
One word, that may be cheesy, to summarize ICON is ICONic. Our International President Emily Rice, from our district, has resigned. That moment was very emotional for everyone in that room. We cannot forget our wonderful immediate past Trustee Grace Ison, they will both be missed by MinnDak dearly along with the rest of the 2018-2019 International Board.
Our district tour in D.C. was something to remember. Connecting with the rest of MinnDak by walking miles after miles. We had the chance to see many historical monuments such as The Washington Monument, National WWII Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and The White House. We also got to visit many other things on our own in groups.
In Baltimore where it all happened ICON!! You meet so many people, and you just randomly make friends, mainly on the long elevator ride. The workshops were informational, there were ones for The Thirst Project, and March of Dimes. Did I mention Laura and Vannessa Marano were there?! Then we have exciting workshops like creating memes and swing dancing.
MinnDak is strong whether if it was yelling the MinnDak cheer up 20 flights of stairs, or panicking and saving one of us off a metro train. If you wanna try and understand these inside jokes join us next year in San Francisco for the 77th annual Key Club International Convention.
