Officer Training

Officer Training

Although many may think that Summertime is a dead period in the key club year, it is just not true. Summer is possibly one of the most important times to prepare for the coming school year to help make it the best that it can be. One way that you can do this is by holding Officer training for your club's board. Now you may be wondering “What exactly is Officer Training?” Well, I'm here to answer that question and give you some Ideas of topics to include in your Officer training.

Officer training is an essential part of ensuring the success of the year to come. During officer training you inform all of your club officers on their duties and train them how to fulfill these duties in an efficient and effective manner.

There are many ways that you can conduct this officer training. It could be a quick zoom meeting or you could even turn it into a day long event to increase board bonding. No matter how you choose to do it, it will prove to be extremely beneficial to make your key club year run as smoothly as possible!

Some things that you will want to include in your training are…

  • A clear, formal description of each position and the role each officer has pertaining to their club’s function

  • The duties and responsibilities of each officer

  • Deadlines on individual tasks

  • Expectation and code of conduct

  • Contact information exchange (all club board members along with your LTG’s)

If you have any questions about how to set up or run officer training, reach out to your LTG! Also, LTG’s will be offering clubs officer training in the coming months so be on the lookout for more information regarding that!
